Kansas Direct Feeder Cattle Summary
Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/07/2018

Receipts: 3,219 Last Week: 5,577 Last Year: 1,692

Compared with last week: Feeder steers and heifers were lightly
tested last week on a Current FOB Basis. A higher undertone was noted
though. Negotiated fat cattle trade picking up in the Southern Plains
and feedlot inventories remain pretty full. Demand moderate, especially
for cattle that will be finished in April. Volume includes 100 percent
600 lbs and over. Feeder supply includes 64 percent steers and 36
percent heifers. Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weighting points
with 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and a 5-10 cent slide on calves and
a 4-16 cent slide on yearlings from base weights.
